Imagine raising your child on the street . . . where they are exposed to poor health conditions and to people who exploit young and old in many ways. Their education is compromised through irregular attendance, no place to do homework and an absence of books at ‘home’ just to mention a few handicaps.

That’s why we launched a project to get homes for homeless people. This one, Homes to Heal, is focused on getting safe and affordable homes for families with children.

Getting homes for families with children is one way of breaking the cycle of homelessness. Without breaking the cycle of homeless people, the demand for more housing will increase every year as we have seen in the past years.

Just as important, children need safe homes so that they can concentrate on their studies at school. They need parents who feel secure about their homes, an address like all the other children in class, a place to do their homework, a good nights sleep, healthy food and a sense of dignity and self confidence.

That’s why Homes to Heal has been launched in Vancouver. It will give everyone an opportunity to become more informed about the needs of homeless families; to advocate for safe and affordable homes for homeless families; and an opportunity to make a donation to provide affordable housing for a families.

Let’s make it happen . . . one family at a time.
