Dreamweaver
Starting in January,Dreamweaver opens –under a very tight timeline,Coast’s new Riverview based program opened to women who have completed their initial treatment for addictions and mental and primary health concerns at the Burnaby Centre for Mental Health &Addictions. A second 22 bed men’s program eventually named “Reason’s Way”opened in May completing at least for the moment,Coast’s new Concurrent Disorders Transitional Program.

Pender Apartments
Pender Apartments start construction in March on way to being a 9 story,96 unit building which will open in May,2011.
St. Helen’s Hotel
In April,the St. Helen’s Hotel begins full operation after extensive renovations and finally funding from BC Housing to provide Operating funding for Coast’s tenant support. It has evolved to an innovative partnership involving many partners and providing supportive,low barrier housing for 86 tenants.
13th Annual Courage to Come Back Awards
The 13th Annual Courage to Come Back Awards are the highlight in May. The sold-out event at the Hyatt earned over $740,000 in support of Coast’s services

Also in November we had our Employee Recognition Awards Dinner which honoured several staff for reaching employment milestones at Coast.
